Biography:

We got Chance on March 9, 2009. He is approximately seven months old and weighs 45 pounds. He has been in an outside pen most of his life with very little human contact. He is very leery of humans since no one has spent any time with him at all. he needs a lot of socialization and some training. he is a very sweet boy, but he is so afraid of people that he won’t even walk on a leash and needs to be carried. He is heartworm negative, thankfully. We have gotten him some private training and socialization. He is in a foster home, as of March 4, 2009, and you wouldn’t even know he is the same dog. He knows his name and comes when called, wagging his tail and so happy. He plays very well with the other Collies and is a fantastic boy. He has a great personality and it is coming out more every day. He one sweet, sweet boy and loves attention, but doesn’t demand it like some other dogs.

11/8/2009: Chance has been very sick with Distemper but he has survived despite all odds. He was neutered on 11/2/2009 and will be available for adoption very soon. Chance will make someone a wonderful pet. Chance is the happiest of all the 12 dogs in the house. He is a beautiful boy with the sweetest face and fantastic personality. I am still amazed on how he has changed from the time we got him to now. It looks like he is always smiling. Chance could use some obedience training to give him more confidence and build a closer relationship with his owner.

3/1/2010: After talking with the vet there is a possibility that Chance could still develop after-effects from the distemper like seizures, twitching or other problems. Anyone who wants to adopt Chance needs to know that he may need extra medical care in the future. You wouldn’t even know he has had the distemper but this could change.

5/11/2010: I took Chance to an Opthomologist today to have his eyes checked and sadly I must report that Chance has Glaucoma. It is affecting both eyes but his left one is the worst at the present time. He checked him out very thoroughly and sent us home with a prescription that he needs to take twice a day. He wants to see him again in 30 days. The doctor really doesn't know if it is due to the distemper or not. This is definitely not good news for sweet little Chance.  This poor boy sure doesn't deserve this since he has been through so much in his short little life.
