Biography:

Hi, my name is Emily. Or at least that is what everyone is calling me, and I come to it so everyone is happy. I came from Arkansas on July 3, and I was very, very sick. I had to spend some time in the Emergency Clinic and then my foster parents took me to Texas A&M Small Animal Clinic on Monday, July 6. All of the doctors didn't think I would live except one doctor told my foster mom not to give up on me. So, I have been in ICU and Isolation this whole week get IV fluids and blood transfusions and lots of tests. I was tested positive for Parvo even though I'm between 2 and 3 years old. But, the wonderful thing is I got better and my Parvo test yesterday, Saturday, July 11 was negative. I got go come home yesterday afternoon and I really feel good. I am so thankful to be alive and I even show it to my foster parents how happy and sweet I am. Another good thing is that I am heart worm negative. I need to stay with my foster family a little while because they need to take me to the vet here to have my blood tested to be sure I am not backsliding any. I also, need to be spayed but that won't be until they know I am totally well. I weighed 64 lbs. on July 29, 2009 and I am getting spayed today.

If anyone would like to send in a donation for my $5,700.00 vet bill it would be very much appreciated. You can just use PayPal and say it's for me, Emily. I want to thank everyone for all of their prayers.

Update: I have recovered from the Parvo and from my spay surgery. I feel just great and everyone is so thankful that I am alive and well. I am ready to go to my forever home at any time. I am such a happy girl, and I love to be loved on and get lots of attention. I am going to make some lucky family a wonderful loving companion.

12/2/2009: I went to my forever home today. I am now living in Central L.A. with a great Daddy and a little sister named Cheeka. We love to run and play together and my new Daddy is very happy that I have come to live with them. I couldn’t ask for a better home than this. For someone that was in a kill shelter in AR, then coming to Houston, then to Texas A&M, and finally back to Houston ... now I’m in L.A. I have really had a busy and somewhat scary life since July 3. But now I have my forever home with so much love, and I am so happy. I even went to see a lot of people in a nursing home this week, and they all just loved me and wanted me to come back to see them. I think my Daddy is going to take me often since I was very good there and everybody liked me a lot. It’s really neat to make people so happy.
