Biography:

Hi, my name is Lizzy, and I am a sable and white rough-coated Collie girl. I was rescued from a kill shelter in AR on September 9, 2009. It was on my 10th birthday, so today is my very lucky day to be given a chance to live and be a happy collie girl. I was not alone though because I came with my very close friend, Robby. We have always lived together, and I sure do hope we get to stay together always. My foster mom says she will keep us together and not separate us. We have been together all of our lives. I only weigh 45 pounds, and the vet I went to says I have heartworms, so after I gain some weight I will have to go through treatment and also be spayed. Until then my good friend, Robby, and I are living in a great foster home in Texarkana. Because I had so many mats in my hair I was shaved down so now I have to grow all of my beautiful hair back. I will be a beautiful girl again when my hair grows back. I am a very sweet collie girl and very well behaved. I’m just looking for love.

9/22/2009: (Update from Lizzy’s foster mom) Lizzy is well potty trained and will bark or walk to the door to be let out. She is a little more independent than her “brother” Robby, but she still enjoys to stay close to her human family. She needs to stay with Robby for his sake. She is a little indifferent. She likes to play with other dogs, though she doesn’t know she’s so big sometimes. She is wonderful with kids and has proven herself around an 18 month old boy. She is more active than Robby. She nor Robby really don’t like cats very much.

11/15/2009: Lizzy is going to the vet tomorrow to see if she is ready to start her heartworm treatment. We will all hope and pray she comes through her treatment without any problems.

12/11/2009: Lizzy has had her first part of the heartworm treatment and has done very well so far. She will be having the second part in a few days and then will have to be very quiet for another 30 days. It won’t be long until she will be able to go to her forever home. Her hair is growing in so nice that she is going to be a beautiful Collie girl very soon. She still needs spayed but this will be after her treatment is complete. Since she and Robby are so close and dependent on each other, we are hoping someone will open up their hearts and home to take both of these sweet seniors and give them the life they both deserve during their senior years.

5/16/2010: Lizzy left Texarkana on Saturday, May  8th, and is now in the Houston area along with Robby. Last Tuesday was a day of beauty for them at the groomer and they are beautiful now with their hair grown back from being shaved. On Wednesday they went to the vet for a check up and teeth cleaning. Lizzy checked out just fine and the vet says she is in good shape for her age. Thursday she had her teeth cleaned and is doing very well. Lizzy is a really good girl and minds very well. She likes attention but isn't pushy. She is very much a lady and is a real sweetheart.  It's a real pleasure to have her and Robby here.

7/27/2010:  Lizzy has found her forever home along with Robby. They are living in San Antonio with their foster parents who have adopted them. They are really coming out of their shells and playing and enjoying life now that they feel more secure.  Lizzy and Robby are two gentle and sweet beautiful Collies that have surely been through a lot and no doubt deserve this wonderful home with this great mom and dad. Congratulations sweet Lizzy and Robby, you have a special place in our hearts. We love you both.
