Biography:
Hi, my name is Maddie. I am a beautiful Sable Collie. I have a Lassie blaze too, for you purists! My hair was shaved because my previous owner did not groom me. But now my hair is growing quickly, and I am more beautiful each day. Right now I am going through heartworm treatment and will be due for my second half soon. Then I will be ready for my forever home. I am housebroken, crate trained, and I get along with other dogs, cats, large tortoises and large birds. The large bird scares me sometimes. At least they have him jail with a padlock!
My foster Mom is working with me on walking on a lead. I am a little stubborn and don’t understand why I have to walk on her left. She is also working on stay, leave it, and sit. I do come when called. Mom and Dad have actually trusted me to go out with the other dogs without a leash. I came right when I was called. I am so proud. You can see it on my face. I stay with my foster sisters because I know they will do the right thing. I am a little nosey, but all Collies are that way, right? I play nicely with toys, but sometimes I want to play surgeon with them. Mom gets tired of closing for me!
10/10/2009: Maddie went to her forever home today. She will be living with her new Mommy and Daddy and a Westie in Brownwood, Texas. She is such a lucky girl to have found such a great home, and she is going to be loved so very much. You are going to be missed by your foster Mom and Dad, but they are happy you have such a great new home.
