Biography:
Molly came to Texas Collie Rescue on February 19, 2010 under an emergency situation. She had been hit by a car and her owners were not able to afford the necessary surgical procedures. We were contacted by the very caring vet that was on her case as her owners were contemplating putting her to sleep. Her owners met us part way to Houston and we transported her to Gulf Coast Veterinary Surgery where she went through a procedure on her right elbow on February 20. She has to have a splint on for two weeks. After the two weeks she needs four to six weeks of cage rest and very little walking on it so it heals and won’t require an additional procedure.
She is an extremely sweet and loving Collie girl that surely deserves to live a full, happy life in a loving home. She will be two years old on March 7, 2010 and only weighs 41 pounds. Molly needs to gain some weight after her leg has healed. She is heartworm negative and also negative for other internal worms. Watch for updates on Molly as she recovers.
4/20/2010: Molly went to her forever home on April 14, 2010. She is living with a Mom, Dad and two teenage girls. She is the only pet in the house so she is getting tons of love and attention and being treated like a beautiful princess. She has adapted very well to her new home and the good thing is she is living only about three miles from our work, so we can go visit sweet Molly often. She has recovered from her accident, although, she still needs to be careful of her elbow for awhile longer so the tendons can heal correctly. It was sad to leave her at her new home, but it will be better for Molly since she won’t have to share attention with any other dogs. Good luck, sweet, beautiful Molly, and we love you and miss you. You deserve everything wonderful in your new life. I am so very thankful we were able to save you.
